  3. I am glad that you had a father figure to support you even though your biological father did not step up to his responsibility. My husband and I have both done this. We do not have "step-children" in our house. They are all our children and that is how we raise them. Children need as many positive role models that they can get. With as many children being born out of wedlock in today's society I hope that my children have learned what it means to be a family whether you are blood related or not.

  4. What a positive impact you had during your childhood and throughout your life. To be accepted for yourself is wonderful. A lot of children wishes that they have someone to confide in like Mrs. Harrington. Some children today confide in the wrong group or keep it bottled in. It seems you are following the same path in ensuring you are there for the children's needs too. They are lucky to have someone like you.

  5. Shannon,

Thank you for sharing your personal childhood stressor. It amazes me how we all managed to survive... back in the day compared to all the information we have now on child development as well as technology. But we all somehow managed didnt we? And look at you now getting a MA degree!

    Thank you for sharing.
